Since 2019, the soundscapes.live collective has been pursuing the goal of promoting European dialog through artistic means. The projects are realised in exchange between Switzerland and various regions of Europe in the fields of literature, music and theater.
Current Project
Street Ballads IV - Brucerà
33 literary voices on the present from Switzerland and Europe.
The fourth edition of the Street Ballads series is devoted to a publishing project. Entitled Brucerà, it brings together 33 literary monologues by writers from Switzerland and elsewhere in Europe.
The texts, written during previous editions of Street Ballads, give voice to mythological and legendary figures. In turn angry, amused, lyrical and despairing, they reflect on the present day. The contributions are framed by diary entries from the Italian author Andrea Donaera, in which he documented the closure, disappearance and winding-up of a bookshop in the city of Gallipoli.
What is remembered? Which voices resist the spirit of the age? How does society deal with its cultural heritage?
Brucerà: some things will burn, but some will endure.
The publication Brucerà will give rise to a choral music-theatre project. Following the publication’s release, the project will bring the Street Ballads series to a close as its fifth and final edition, presented in the form of a live soundscape.
